At this point usually they will have to expand beyond the original cavity they are occupying, this means they will chew through plasterboard and wood in your property in order to expand. Structural damage caused by wasps can have serious consequences. We have seen it time and time again where ceilings collapse and nests break into the property. Often joists/ loft materials are damaged.
